26/11: When Ratan Tata stood on pavement outside Taj Hotel while hostages were rescued

On November 26, 2008, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists laid siege to Mumbai’s iconic Taj Hotel. At least 33, including patrons and staff, were killed during the attack and several were held hostage. As rescue operations continued for three days, Ratan Tata, chairman of the Taj-owned Tata Group, stood outside the hotel. Later, Tata vowed to support the families of staff who lost their lives in the terror attack
