In a significant development, the Special Task Force (STF) and Vaishali police have apprehended an accused involved in the ₹20 crore gold heist at the Reliance showroom in Dehradun. The criminal, along with his associates, was reportedly plotting a bank robbery in Hajipur when the arrest was made.

Key Details:

  • Arrest Operation: The STF team received a tip-off and coordinated with the Superintendent of Police, Vaishali. During the operation, four criminals, including the prime accused Avinash Kumar alias ‘Boss,’ were arrested. Avinash had a bounty of ₹1 lakh on his head and had been on the run for a considerable time.
  • Criminals and Seizures: Alongside Avinash Kumar, the arrested individuals include Dharmendra Kumar from Samastipur, Rakesh Kumar, and Mayank Kumar from Diggi Kala Paschimi in the Hajipur Sadar police station area. The police seized a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, a car, and 2.215 kilograms of charas from them.

This arrest brings a sigh of relief to the police, who had been actively pursuing Avinash Kumar after the high-profile gold heist in Dehradun.
