In a shocking incident in Bareilly ‘s CB Ganj area on July 6th, Alam alias Amanullah attempted to rape a Hindu woman under the guise of showing her a rental accommodation. When the victim resisted, he assaulted her and tore her clothes. Her screams for help attracted nearby residents, who intervened and apprehended Alam.
However, instead of showing remorse, Alam made derogatory remarks about Hindu women, claiming to involve them in prostitution and openly making offensive comments against Hindu figures like Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His inflammatory statements incited anger among the gathered crowd, who proceeded to beat him before handing him over to the authorities.
Following the incident, Alam was arrested, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against him under various sections including rape, insult, indecency, and intimidation. Inspector Rajbali Singh of CB Ganj confirmed the arrest and mentioned that further charges may be added as the investigation progresses.
The incident has sparked outrage locally, with videos of the incident circulating on social media platforms, prompting calls for swift and severe legal action against Alam. The community’s response underscores the gravity of the situation and the demand for justice for the victim.
