Arms Trafficking Nexus Busted: Dehradun Gun Dealer Parikshit Negi and Accomplice Held for Supplying Weapons to Naxalites, Khalistan Network

In a major breakthrough, a joint operation by the Uttarakhand STF and Mumbai Crime Branch led to the arrest of Kamran Ahmed from Clement Town, Dehradun. Kamran is accused of supplying illegal weapons to an international wildlife trafficking gang, with links suspected to Naxalites. Investigations have revealed that he learned the arms smuggling trade from Parikshit Negi, owner of the now-defunct Royal Arms (Gun House) in Dehradun.

Negi, already under the scanner for his alleged role in a 2,200-cartridge trafficking case in 2022, was again arrested—this time by the National Investigation Agency (NIA)—for reportedly supplying ammunition to the Khalistan Liberation Front.

Key Findings:

  • Kamran and Parikshit refurbished old and discarded firearms, which were supposed to be destroyed as per legal norms, and sold them illegally across state borders.
  • Maharashtra Police confirmed that weapons sourced from this network reached Naxal-affected districts.
  • NIA raids at Negi’s home and showroom (Royal Gun House) in Dehradun unearthed incriminating documents linked to Khalistani operatives in Amritsar and other regions.
  • Another NIA raid was conducted at the residence of Asim in Udhamsingh Nagar, a man previously jailed for links with the 2016 Nabha jailbreak case.

Negi’s arms license was earlier revoked due to illegal cartridge sales. Despite being out on bail from a previous arrest, his continued activities prompted NIA action based on fresh intelligence.

This crackdown reveals a disturbing overlap between licensed gun dealers and extremist networks, highlighting a critical national security threat. Investigations are ongoing, and more arrests may follow.
