In a recent twist to the ongoing saga between Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), fresh allegations have surfaced regarding Kejriwal’s health and treatment during his incarceration in Tihar jail. The ED has claimed that Kejriwal is deliberately spiking his blood sugar levels by consuming high-sugar foods like mangoes, sweets, and tea with sugar, in an attempt to garner sympathy from the court and secure bail.
However, Kejriwal’s legal team has vehemently denied these allegations, stating that he has been following a prescribed diet chart and using artificial sweeteners in his tea. They argue that the ED’s claims are baseless and politically motivated.
Amidst these allegations, the Tihar jail authorities have submitted a report to the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, asserting that Kejriwal’s blood sugar levels are not alarming and that he has not been denied insulin. The report suggests that Kejriwal was on an insulin-reversal program prior to his arrest and had stopped taking insulin months before being incarcerated.
The AAP, on the other hand, has accused the jail authorities of withholding insulin from Kejriwal, alleging a conspiracy to harm the Chief Minister. They assert that Kejriwal has been suffering from diabetes for many years and requires insulin for his treatment.
The conflicting narratives from the ED, Kejriwal’s legal team, and the Tihar jail authorities have sparked a heated debate, with both sides presenting their version of events. While the ED maintains that Kejriwal is manipulating his health condition for legal leverage, Kejriwal’s supporters argue that he is being unfairly targeted and denied necessary medical treatment.
The controversy surrounding Kejriwal’s health has escalated into a political showdown, with various parties weighing in on the matter. The BJP has accused the AAP of running a false campaign to garner sympathy for Kejriwal, while the AAP continues to assert that there is a concerted effort to undermine the Chief Minister’s health and well-being.
As the legal battle rages on and the conflicting narratives continue to unfold, it remains to be seen how the courts will adjudicate on the matter and what implications it will have on Kejriwal’s future as Delhi’s Chief Minister.
