How security forces gunned down 29 Naxals in ‘biggest strike’ in the jungles of Chhattisgarh

In what is being dubbed the biggest operation against Naxals this year, security forces killed 29 extremists in an encounter in the forests of Kanker in Chhattisgarh. Among those killed in the two-hour gunfire was senior commander Shankar Rao, who had a bounty of Rs 25 lakh. A huge cache of weapons and ammunition has also been recovered
