On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing them of adopting an ultra-leftist agenda of ‘wealth redistribution’ in their election manifesto. He likened this agenda to the ideology of Maoists and accused the Congress of falling into the trap of leftists and urban naxals. PM Modi asserted that several estranged leaders from the Congress party had highlighted this issue to him.

Addressing an election rally in Banswara, Rajasthan, PM Modi warned voters about the implications of the Congress party’s promise of wealth redistribution. He criticized the idea of surveying Indians’ possessions, including gold, silver, and property, stating that items like the ‘Mangalsutra’ hold sentimental value beyond their material worth.

PM Modi also recalled a controversial remark by former PM Manmohan Singh, who suggested that Muslims have the first right over resources. He suggested that the Congress’ proposed wealth survey could lead to redistribution favoring those with more children, illegal migrants, and Muslims.

Earlier in the day, speaking at a rally in Jalore, Rajasthan, PM Modi mocked senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, implying that those unable to win elections have sought refuge in Rajasthan this time. He criticized the Congress for its decline, noting that a party that once won 400 seats is now struggling to contest even 300 seats, attributing this to the party’s “sins” and “instability.”

PM Modi further blamed the Congress for its current state, accusing it of spreading corruption and dynastic politics. He expressed the youth’s frustration with the Congress and their desire for change.
