On her 67th birthday, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated Rashtrapati Tapovan and Rashtrapati Niketan in Dehradun and laid the foundation stone for Rashtrapati Udyan. Both Tapovan and Niketan will be open to the public starting June 24 and July 1, respectively.

Tapovan, a 19-acre forest estate, is rich in Himalayan biodiversity, hosting over 110 plant species and various protected birds and animals. Niketan, spread over 21 acres, has historical roots dating back to 1838 and features heritage buildings, lily ponds, and orchards.
Murmu also released a biodiversity book cataloguing over 300 flora and 170 fauna species across the three sites. During her visit, she interacted with students at the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities and highlighted government efforts under Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan to create inclusive spaces for specially abled citizens.
