Supreme Court rejects West Bengal government’s plea against High Court order directing CBI probe into allegations in Sandeshkhali

Supreme Court of India dismissed the West Bengal government's plea challenging the Calcutta High Court's order, which directed a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into allegations of land-grabbing and sexual assault in Sandeshkhali.

In its plea before the apex court, the state government said the high court’s order demoralised the entire state machinery, including the police force
