Tragic Murder Shakes Hubballi: College Student Neha Stabbed to Death by Classmate Fayaz

A horrifying incident has rocked the city of Hubballi as 24-year-old college student Neha Hiremath was brutally stabbed to death on her college campus. The assailant, identified as Fayaz, a fellow student at B V Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology, attacked Neha with a knife, leaving her fatally wounded.

Neha, the daughter of Congress Corporator Niranjan Hiremath, was pursuing her first year of MCA at the college. Fayaz, who had been Neha’s classmate during their BCA studies, had reportedly been persistently pressuring her to enter a relationship, which she consistently refused.

The tragic incident unfolded as Neha exited the college premises, where Fayaz, masked and armed with a knife, ambushed her. Despite attempts to flee, Neha was overpowered and repeatedly stabbed in the neck by the assailant, as captured on CCTV footage. Despite the swift intervention of bystanders, Neha succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to KIMS Hospital.

Fayaz, who had been evading arrest, was apprehended by the police following the heinous crime. Investigators revealed that Fayaz had expressed his intent to harm Neha to acquaintances, indicating premeditated murder driven by rejection and frustration.

City Police Commissioner Renuka K Sukumar confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation, emphasizing the need to unravel the motive behind the senseless act of violence. While initial inquiries suggest a case of unrequited love leading to fatal consequences, authorities continue to probe further into the circumstances surrounding Neha’s tragic demise.

The bereaved family, unaware of Fayaz’s existence, expressed shock and disbelief over the ruthless attack on their daughter. Political leaders, including MLA Prasad Abbayya, extended condolences to Neha’s family, while student groups like the ABVP demanded stringent action against the perpetrator.
