Wayanad landslides: What made the landslips one of the deadliest in India?

On Tuesday, three landslides struck Kerala’s Wayanad, wreaking havoc and causing untold misery in the southern state. Over 150 people have been killed and dozens more are missing as rescue operations enter Day 2. Experts note that heavy rainfall induced by climate change, a depleting forest cover and tricky terrain contributed to making this the state’s deadliest landslip
